Very interesting and informative, Richard. Didn't know the Nikkor 45mm f/2.8 Ai-P was designed by Cosina, but it doesn't surprise me, it has some pleasant rendering characteristics like the Voigtlander 58/1.4 and 90/3.5
Thanks Richard, a true dinosaur that lens,,, And what a funny simple and yet complex design - Strangely different, looks like some OEM design adopted by Nikon
Rick, I surely enjoyed your post just like other ones. Thanks for sharing!
I found decoupling focusing and aperture control on my 45 GN to be necessary for the lens to be usable for ordinary shooting. Otherwise focusing is too awkward, slow, and plagued with imprecision and play. I suspect the cam controlling the aperture wears quickly as well.
Yes, it was subcontracted to Cosina they are overpriced now. I am actually looking for one to play with. however, i am saving up for a NOCT
Thank you, Akira! do you have any lenses that focuses really bad or is super dirty? lets clean it!
Thanks for another interesting post.
If you compare it with the Voigtlander Ultron 40/2 they are not really overpriced, both around 350 USD or lower, I guess.
