Fons: that's a nice composite image for sure.

As we now are deep into the cold claws of winter over in my part of the world, did a quick image search for 'cold' images with patterns. Here is one example of Glyceria fluitans leaves frozen into thin ice. Fuhji S3 Pro UVIR with Nikkor 20 mm f/4.

The "problem" with minimalistic images is that there are so many of them in the archives ... A thread like this could well go on for years with a new photo posted daily, and yet the supply wouldn't dry up.

A winter shot appropriate for the season and the inclement weather of today. It's been snowing hard the last 24 hours and strong winds shift the fluffy stuff everywhere. There are just a few hours of semi daylight so fast lenses are a must.

Nikon D200 with the Noct-Nikkor 58 mm f/1.2 set wide open. After sunset, just before the world goes completely black.

John: nice depiction of mosquitoes and a Roegneria. Not entirely certain of the ID for that grass though.

Adding this one for you, Jakov .... An example that by observing Nature, you get the shots framed and readily served.

Our German friends surely will remember the touching story on "Knut, der Kleine Eisbär" a few years back.

One morning I found "Knut" ready made on a road verge by a snow cleaning machine. Gravel from the road surface had been distributed laterally by the snow plough. He had escaped from the German Zoo, but still contained by barbed wire :(

Nikon D200, AFD 85/1.4 wide open.
