Glass was expensive and heavily taxed in the early nineteenth century. So the farmhouse had small windows on the north side and larger ones on the south side, where they would be of more use.

Nikon Zf, 35mm f/2 AI.
I really like window light, great capture

Latest lens addition - Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2 distagon - on top of a Japanese edition of a Bill Evans record (Paris Concert Two).
My copy of that Zeiss 35/2 is still excellent after many years...just like Bill Evans!

All pollen factories in my neighbourhood are working to full capacity and at highest possible speed. Just rising in the morning is enough to make us with pollen allergy  regret the day has broken :( Thus I went, sneezing and coughing, back to bed.

Nikkor 400mm f/4.5Z with the TC-14Z on my Zf. The birch itself  is a Silver Birch Betula pendula type, but with intermediate traits from Downy Birch B. pubescens. Such backcrossings are very common in the genus.

Commiserations - I suffer likewise.  Even tougher on someone that is a botanist.

New gadget day - the tiny Godox X3N flash transmitter and AD200pro flash.
After years of using a pair of SB-5000 on and off camera I wanted something with a bit more oomph and nice wireless remote.

D500 with Neo Noct?

Great combo even in more tricky situation like running same speed with our candidate for the EU Parliament yesterday
