School was valued highly in 1845, when this schoolhouse was built. The community put both time and money into building it. The wood is old-growth white pine; much fancier than was typically used for farmhouses. The windows were expensive and there were six of them!

'Tertitten', my local museum heritage railway is run by true enthusiasts :) Today they were busy shunting carriages using a small diesel loco, a "young and fresh" model from 1965. The railway and other hardware are late 1890's so much older.

IR with the Nikkor 40mm f/2 SEZ on Z5. Heavy overcast and thus little darkering of the sky occurred.

Where is the spring? Falling snow flakes transformed to quite large water droplets. In spite of the dark snowy and overcast day heavily cropped handheld shots at 700mm and f/9 (500PF+TC-14E III on D500) still gave acceptable results. 8)

Last one was for yesterday. Here is a followup for today with bigger droplets.

Even Chuck Norris would have needed a tripod. Well done!

The D500 is still one if the best cameras that Nikon ever built. I really love it. Thank you for showing the power

Thanks, the VR certainly helps, and using the central AF point at narrower apertures and low light levels.

Latest lens addition - Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2 distagon - on top of a Japanese edition of a Bill Evans record (Paris Concert Two).
