In a split-second accident, Birna very nearly lost her left thumb today. Not good -- not at all. The gush went to the bone, literally. The surgeon of the Emergency Ward fixed it -- or at least I hope so. I'm left-handed :(

It suddenly became uncertain whether I can bring, not to speak of lift up, my Z9, on the forthcoming visit to Paco in Spain. Leaving in a few days. I probably have to rethink the photo challenges for my meet-up with him and might have to drop the Z9 and swap to lighter gear. We'll see over the weekend what mess that remains after the anaesthetic and painkillers have done their duty. The stitches, and more painkillers, will accompany me on the trip.

At least the Z30 + 28SE in my purse allowed for a few documentary snaps. For once having a lightweight camera with AF was beneficial. I also quick-tested whether the Z30 could fly on its own and survive the inevitable crash onto flagstones. It survived as the image below bears witness to. So did the lens but the HN-2 hood acquired some extra dings and scratches.

Birna, hope it will heal soon and it is not only a trick to smuggle surgical silk into the EU  :)
It is to be expected that nerves need a while to get back to work, so think about a head mounted GoPro and make a trip dokumentation in your style
Wish you a fast and full recovery

Oh, no, that's really painful, Birna.  Hope your right hand will get better soon...  (The image apparently shot with a phone seems to makes it left-right reversed, which confused me at first.)

Ouch! I hope that everything will be well. Rest, heal and let the Andalusian sunlight do you a power of good.
