Brought the D700 & Nikkor 28mm ais with me to Dhaka, Bangladesh this month.
That's quite a building, what a color! My daughter-in-law is from Bangladesh, and she and my granddaughter just returned from a two week visit to that country.

Thanks. Yes, I've thought of something like that, or perhaps fluorescent tape. Only downside is I think I might spoil the look of the mailbox, which I like as it is. Form versus function rears its heads once again.

Green and gold are a very classy match!  Or maybe drill a pattern of small holes in the number and fit it with LEDs?

Indeed - I don't think that I have seen a pink building in real life before! Dhaka is certainly an interesting, very colourful city and full of life.

This photo is horrible in any conceivable aspect. Part of the misery is of course that the lens in question, Rodenstock TV-Heligon 50mm f/0.75, was hand-held and  not aligned properly to the optical axis. A tilted lens in combination with a wafer-thin depth of field makes for an "uneven" distribution of sharpness :)

However, its importance -- to me -- is that it serves as a proof of concept. With the Z9, the opportunity to apply the ultra-fast "X-ray" lenses for infinity focus now is feasible. I know how to achieve this and am only waiting for a special part in order to get a focusable superspeed system. I probably will deploy my Oude Delft 50mm f/0.75 instead of the Rodenstock as preliminary testing indicates the former has a much flatter field of view and thus reduces the amount of spherical aberration outside its designed imaging circle.

I have been studying color recently and was interested in the striking blue of your flowers. I did some searching on the internet and came upon YInMn blue, a recently discovered inorganic compound very similar in color. Obviously the flowers are not inorganic but the colors match well to my eye. The usefulness of YInMn blue is apparently far-ranging beyond simply being beautiful. It is also quite rare and expensive.

A friend took me around the old section of Dhaka using a rickshaw which was really fun. Here's one of the interesting scene that we came across.

John, you have a remarkable ability to see a good photograph in everyday settings.

That old Micro Nikkor still acquits itself well.

This one is from the end of November. However, it has taken me until now to balance the outdoor and indoor exposures, all from a single capture.
