Did you see any UFO or strange alien lights, Bent? They apparently arrive in the dark parts of the day. An observatory has been built to study the weird light phenomena in this particular desolate valley and as far as memory serves, they even got State grants for the research.

We did not see any UFOs, but there was a very nice and informative monument telling the story about the lightning that has been seen. And yes there is a setup for monitoring the activity by NTNU, (technical university  of Norway)

View on Korte Gracht / Short Canal (yes, there's also a Lange Gracht / Long Canal). Amersfoort has gained a lot of popularity with mostly Dutch tourists during COVID times.
Lots of people join the excursions along the canals. Small boats and standup paddle boarding are also much more popular.
In a house on this Korte Gracht the famous Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan was born. The house, where he lived the first 8 years of his life, is now a museum dedicated to Mondriaan.

A closer view of the stem of a Water-Starwort Callitriche hamulata. The peculiar "peltate scales" or hairs are a diagnostic feature for this species aggregate. The scales appear blue here due to staining with Lactophenol Cotton Blue. The unsharp blue dots are hairs on the reverse side of the stem.

GXCam U3-18 on a confocal microscope, 10x/0.25 objective, 20 frames stacked in Zerene. Scale bar is 100 µm (= 0.1mm) with 1 µm steps.
