It is June!
Post your "blog" contributions here. No theme (other than what the passage of time creates), no contest implied, a maximum of one picture per day in the actual month for NG Supporters and no more than 8 images per month for NG members. Enjoy!

Meet Naza,
BIF (bellerina in flight) is actually from may the 30th, taken with Z6 and 58mm 1.4G I missed Birna´s Z9. There is a considerable shutter lag with my older model. I have to readjust after shooting with other cameras.
The hole batch was worked on alien skin exposure 5 because nikon´s capture NX-D keeps on crashing on me for no apparent reason since the last software update. I have downloaded the latest NX-D version and it keeps on crashing....on the meantime, Exposure 5 is a pleasure to use.

Here's Christie again--my favorite model. This was just after brushing her coat so she was looking at her best. For about 10 seconds. She immediately went to her favorite chair and proceeded to muss up her hair to her satisfaction. She always seems to attract the best light so I had to capture it. D700, 50/1.8 AI-S "long nose" Nikkor. A little help here from Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro3. Even Christie can use some post processing.

Airports are like burgers: all the same, just more or less stale. I just arrived at Oslo Gardermoen, and that one is quite fresh.
Not for photography, but for business, alas. There are worse places for sure. Having a burger, precisely, at Fjøla (at Oslo station).

I'm kind of warming to the 12-28 PZ Nikkor for my Z/Dx cameras. Colour aberrations are quite well under control, sharpness is good, flare resistance likewise is good too; however there is significant barrel distortion at the very wide end. Nikon's software or in-camera generated jpgs will mitigate most of these issues.
When the end user, like me, uses non-Nikon software for processing, te barrel distortion is obvious but that won't entail it is always require digital massage in order to be of little pictorial importance.
This image from Oslo Central Station underscores that point. It is taken at 12mm setting, and due to the bending lines in the subject I didn't find it necessary to do any corretion of the barrel distortion at all.

With the combination of high resolving power of the lens (Scanner Nikkor ED) and the high pixel count of Z9, I was able to detect nano black holes on my dinner table. A real surprise discovery I'd like to share with the NG community.
The image has been subjected to sophisticated PRIMO processing, in order to better trace the emerging jet stream from the minute black hole :)

I had not expected to see the volcanic eruption near Grindavik in the distance.
I've wondered about this for a while Ian, given this airport is the main route in/out of Iceland.
I guess they know enough about the geology of the area plus likely prevailing winds, to plan for any expansion of the vents.

It is curious that putting the subject on the right adds a touch of tension versus putting it on the left. Perhaps a reflection of the fact that we read from left to right?

No. I do have the right to wear what I want. If someone takes a photo of me working it is a legit documentation. I did not even ask for it.

Interesting thoughts.
I wonder if Middle Eastern peoples whose languages (such as Hebrew and Arabic) are written from right to left would prefer Ian's charming daisy image to be horizontally flipped by 180 degrees?

Careful use and positioning of the beautiful background colors makes for an interesting visual collage. Softness, balance and subtlety becomes a quality and an atmosphere here.
-
This might be a bit controversial, but here it goes:
This photo is a long exposure with a black background, consisting of three poses, each lit with a handheld flash. I took it last week, but I found it a bit boring and thought it would be good material to experiment with in Photoshop's generative AI.
I asked Photoshop to remove the background and regenerate it as a steampunk room with window light coming from the right side of the image.
I had to do some retouching on the layer mask because it was messing up the hands
-

A nice experiment, Armando. It has something artificial to my feeling, but that are perhaps the three poses. It's very busy however

I guess the graffitti is painted from outside but I'm not sure. The area around the center of Shibuya in Tokyo is not very clean, but I just felt this graffitti backlit by both the headlight of a car and the LED light inside the booth looked rather attractive.

Nice retro shot. It looks like it’s seen better days. Does it still work? Here in the US, finding a public phone and having it actually work is harder to do than finding a public bathroom (at least in my infrastructurally challenged country).

Thank you, Tom. The public phones are becoming scarce in Japan, too. The phones themselves should work, if you can find one. The problem is that the booths generally stink of cigarette, which is unbearable to me.
On the other hand, Shibuya ward had a unique project called "The Tokyo Toilet" to commission a selection of architects to design public bathrooms. Here is the website for the projects:

I've returned to this holiday rental in West Wales several times over the last decade.
This fine-leaved bright green plant just loves growing here and Wales has a wet enough climate to keep it watered.

I was not thinking of black-and-white when I took this photograph. However, DXO FilmPack is showing promise.

Thank you, Frank. The bartender is indeed the subject of the photograph. However, what made me take it was noticing the way the green light above reflected off her hair and contrasted with the magenta light in the background.

I think the triple horizontal (pebbles, sea, sky) and three vertical (people) makes for a calm-established frame that works very well here.

In the interests of balance, here's a right of reply from someone who got taken to the "English seaside" as a child.
Devon and Cornwall can be superb
(though I rarely bother with the south coastlines)
I have dismal memories of days at Littlehampton and other "beaches" along the Channel.
I don't think anyone should base their opinions of English beaches soley on these
(the sea is usually grey, rarely much sand and almost never any decent waves) :)

Inspection of pipes prior to the construction of district heating. All this in todays temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. I feel sorry for the workers.
The plethora of pipes is due to the lack of a removal obligation of no longer used pipes.

Several thousand years work lies next to sand that was created in the last decade or so

Ian, that is a really nice clean folding pattern of the rocks, and it could appear that the sand has helped polishing it?
Alaska fire season is on, so combination of heat, dry lightening and wind results in smoke from several major wildfires around Fairbanks. Water scooping planes passing overhead is a daily occurrence.

No worry for Fairbanks. There are some areas near the Elliott highway north-east of us that was ordered to evacuate. Alaskan wildfires in summer are pretty normal, it is just a matter of how bad it gets and which way the wind drives the smoke. It is currently reported that there are 132 active fires in Alaska, but only 14 of them staffed. Fires that do not have the potential to threaten structures are just allowed to burn its course; it is a natural part of the cycle. The image above was from yesterday afternoon. I managed to get a shot of one of the water scooping planes today - interesting location of the engines high on top of the wings. (Propellers stay pretty straight with the Z8 8) ). Here is a link to a photo of what it looks like on the ground https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10167228 (https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10167228) and another one scooping https://fireaviation.com/2017/05/15/scoopers-on-lake-chatuge/aero-flite_262_cl-215/ (https://fireaviation.com/2017/05/15/scoopers-on-lake-chatuge/aero-flite_262_cl-215/).

Down with a flu these days, so photography takes the backseat. Still, nice to try out the more unusual stuff; like the B.U.G. filter which combines UV with strongly modified visual colours. You'll need a UV-capable lens to make the most of it, but that's no problem with the Coastal 60mm f/4 APO.
Ruth's bed of Bidens ferulifolia flowers have an all-yellow appearance to the naked eye, however in UV the large UV-dark patches are very much evident.

Many thanks John and Ian - yes there was a streetlight above me which helped lighting her face. The color temperatures of the various lights was a challenge tough. It was done while walking past and the Zf locked AF on the eyes despite the low light levels and my movement. I'm really impressed with the Zf as a street photo camera.
