Actually, you are seeing it -- the railway is kept operational and running as part of the regional museum. They have engaged enthusiasts to maintain the locos and rolling stock, and they take great pride in running the train in the summer season, plus at christmas.

A glimpse into the maintenance shed during a overhaul of one of the other locomotives. (also IR, now with Z5/20mm f/3.5 Nikkor UD). These vintages machines are kept in immaculate order and chrome and brass parts are shining. Any spare parts not available are made by the staff.

Did some test today with Z6 and Z8, no effect on the Z8 and Z6 with mechanical shutter otherwise the effect is shown on Z6

Activating the mechanical shutter limits max. speed to 1/2000 sec on the Z5. You swap one evil for another.

Last week my wife and I were on holiday on the Balearic island Formentera. A very nice destination, relaxed and in June not crowded. Parts of the beach area are protected and not accesible for people, hence the promenade and the rope shown in this image.

Yesterday morning, the sun was halfways over the horizon, I had the joy to watch a squirrel on a tree next door ...
My choice of camea was Zf, the lens the 4/300PF on the Nikkor 1,4x Converter Version III plus FTZ obviously.
Low light combined ISO was 57600 ... still worth a try in post processing...

We are full dive into rehearsals for the upcoming end-of-the-year performance this friday. Today I took a couple of test shots -as seeing here- and then pass the camera to a student so I could pay attention to what was going on. Let me tell you, this girl shot some very interesting frames...
