NikonGear Revival GetTogether September2015
« on: September 23, 2015, 10:20:29 »
So I'm off  :D I have packed/overfilled my camera bags and have started on this journey to The Black Forrest (Schwarzwald) in South-West Germany via The Hague where Jakov et al is waiting with a new lens 'we have never used' quite a statement looking forward to see what that could be  ::)  ;D

To add to the suspension I have added a new tool  8) for various chipping, tinkering, lens repairs and now a special Short-K1 is in the works - Nice to have something besides post processing during the evenings at the hotel...

I will use the next days to acclimatize myself from the busy workdays of the summer and get into NikonGear mode i.e. creative photography mode, last few months have been filled by fantastic new impressions from new and old members here – I’m really inspired by some fantastic skillful people here not only seasoned pros but also people just enjoying creating photographs and sharing them!

Looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces again, the NG-workshop has started!

Overloaded gear bags, tinkering tools; we are evidently off to a good start Erik.

See you all shortly. Off early tomorrow to meet Jan Anne in Amsterdam

Erik, from the amount of lenses that I see that you are carrying, my photo bag will be very light  ;D

I am excited about our 1st NikonGear Revival GetTogether!!!

... the NG-workshop has started!

Only 2 more days for me. I won't be bringing as much stuff as most of you, simply because ... i don't have as much stuff as most of you  8).

Andrew, John and i travel together and target to be in the hotel around 16.00 (or thereabouts), so you won't be alone for too long  ;)

See you all there !!

HCS: I'll be arriving very lightly equipped as well. Df  with 20, 35, Noct, 105, and 300 PF. The 105 might be a 105/4 Micro. For IR the modified D5300 with 16/2.8 Fish, and 18-70 AFS. Both can share a 100/1.6 Rodenstock Heligon.

Which 80 would that be, John? The AF 80/2.8 for F3AF?

Bjørn, i'm kind of impressed. I mean ... i've seen the boot of your little red Peugeot. I was secretly wondering how you would get all of that in JA's Beemer, but turns out, you don't  :D

I'm still doubting to bring my flash case with bits 'n' pieces flash related (flashes, gels, etc.). Is that something worthwhile?

Yes, AF won't work so it acts as an AIS lens. But it's a real gem, to my idea.

Have you removed the old CPU? It can shorten the camera battery because the pin-out is different from the modern lenses. I can replace the CPU with a new type so it'll register correctly and meter on all Nikons. No AF though as the AF system of the old lenses for F3AF (80/2.8, 200/3.5) was designed in a different manner.

Optically this is an excellent performer as you already have noticed.
