So today a had a little fun with Jakov's new mystery lens... Trying to get it to show it's true character...

First up is 'Pink Memories' it's a last remembrance of a loved one passed.
I like the rendering here, sort of dreamy and creamed but with bite in the bg

Next up is 'Circles' it's quite obvious what is going on with the Back Ground Bokeh, the out of focus highlights get bright edges and Cat's eye shaped...

'Rectangles' tricks the back ground into highlights along the straight edges, very nice effect

Erik:

Great shots, all threee of them. The bowling shot esp. inspiring, the dreamy pink bike reminds me of the Grachten in Gent, where people park their decorated bikes like that, and Jakovs eye portrait is a complicated construction to a good pictorial end. Keep them coming!

Another two since I posted this, so: Your work with the background alignment is esp. visible in the "green grey V". Is the FG also part of a children's playground as the other?

'The Cats Eye Knot' My favorite shot from today shoving the true nature of the lens, the small rain droplets give a feeling of scale,,,
All images here are shot at Max aperture - the lens changes character immediately when stopped down; Contrast goes up and the cloud cover disappears...

I LOVE this Coffee Shop foto. So cool!!

And Bowling Man is also a terrific capture of motion.

Added later:  Is the lens a Petzval maybe? Just guessing!

I got three candidates:
Helios 40-2
Biotar 58 or 75
Petzval

I am jealous of this lens now!
And I am also jealous of the fact that everybody is mentioning the bowling photo but not the bowler  :'(
