I have an even older Novoflex Fernobjektiv 1:5.6 f=40cm. It does not have the pistol grip but can be used with a Novoflex bellows. Here it is attached to the camera with a Novoflex NEXA and an Sony E to Nikon Z adapter.
For the latest incarnation of the Novoflex follow-focus lens, there exists a replacement for the pistol grip with a focusing mechanism; the Novoflex TUBUS-D. It is very solid but rare. I tried to get one a few years ago in an auction, but didn't win.

Kim, a nicely looking Novoflex!! I too have a "Fernojektiv f=40cm", but obviously the exterior is differerently finished. Both likely are nearly 60 years old by now.  In my really young days I sometimes borrowed a friend's Novoflex with the Pistol Grip for shooting wildlife, a feat which I never mastered to satisfaction. Thus the idea of the Novoflex hibernated until the last couple of years, when Ulf Wilhelmsson, a Swedish member of UVP, demonstrated the vintage Novoflex passed a lot of UV. So I bought into the 'Schellschuss' system again, but quickly found the Pistol Grip idea would not work for UV in the field. Hence the dedicated setup shown in a previous post.

Mine is from the 50's. The advantage of this one is that it actually has a tripod socket just behind the aperture element. The lens head can also be rotated. The specific lens is most likely made for a Leica. It ends in a 39mm thread, which fits the Novoflex belllows.

Both look gorgeous!

Do these "Fernobjektive" consist of a single optical design of two glued convex- and concave elements like Leica Telyt 560mm and 480 lenses?

Yes, as far as I know, the only one with 3 lenses is the newer T-Noflexar f/5.6 400mm.

Thank you, Kim, for confirmation and details.

Thanks John, the 24mm f/1.4 seems to be an overlooked lens nowadays, not up to modern ideas of sharpness etc.

Yes, I compared this lens with the new 28/1.4 E and the latter wins on all accounts, also  very good up close.

Have both the 28mm wins where acute sharpness is wanted the oof of the 24 is preferred.

More fun with long lenses ...

The setup below is inspired by this thread: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/53810416

I found the idea of using a Canon 500D close-up lens as a telephoto lens quite interesting. The Canon is a 2-lens design (doublet achromat) like the Noflexar long lenses (except the T-Noflexar).

I made a setup with a PB-6 bellows, the extension bellows PB-6E, a PN-11, the extension rings PK set, some step-up rings, and the Canon 500D 72mm.

The result is a f/9.6 500mm. The limit for aperture is the 52mm diameter of the tubes.

Below a picture of the setup and an example picture with a crop. It is seen from the full picture that there is some vignetting.

This is the crop - the other pictures follow.
