Yes, I also liked its close focus capability.  But I stayed with the 185g AF-S 50/1.8.  :)

It took me > 48 hours to fully recover from the horrible MRI contrast fluid they injected me with. Just the future  mention of 'gadolinium' makes me cringe.

Today I had come to the stage of browsing through the MRI footage. No doubt I have had an alien visitor from outer space which silently burrowed into my head. Ouch. This is worse than I had anticipated.

Lots of strange things residing inside one's skull, that's for sure. However, the white "lump" pointed out by the red arrow should *not* be there. It is a tumor ('neuroma') on the hearing and balance nerves. Nature has not made any space available for it and accordingly, it causes -- literally -- headaches, balance impairment, and an increasing loss of hearing. If allowed to grow, it eventually becomes fatal.

Birna - hope for the best as already said. A friend of mine had an acoustic neuroma (same I assume) and went trough surgery.

sorry to learn about your alien.
Hope that the neuroma is of benign character and that its removal will be returning you to normality.

Looks quite scary. I hope that identifying it will quickly lead to getting rid of it.
On a positive note, I understand that brains are rather resilient to damage in one area or the other. Time may be required to heal. Best of luck!

Thanks, Sten. I do hope to keep hearing (cannot be guaranteed) and avoid most of the other nasties incurred by this neuroma.
