Airy, that shot has a story and ambiance. Love the b&w treatment too.

A show from this sunday. The Z6 performed flawlessly. Af with face/eye detection was impressive. High iso and how pliable are the files still amazing for my kind of work. All handheld, all in silent shutter mode.

  Z6, 70-200mm 2.8 fl

Great lighting and composition!

Still extremely mild for the season, but there are occasional episodes of snow dusting to enlighten our daily life. On the flip side, we are entering the season of bad taste, so one has to be lucky to escape the light show if not the sight(s).

Reflex-Nikkor 1000mm f/11 hand-held, PrimaLuce Z5.

Signs of life. Japanese persimmons are the brightest spot in the yard this time of year, still clinging to branches as the leaves have fallen. This year we had a large crop - they seem to happen in alternate years - too much for us to eat them all and pandemics make it harder to give them away. So this year I’m making vinegar. This is about 5l of persimmons mashed up and dosed with a bit of sake kasu- the lees of sake production. After a slow start it has begun a vigorous fermentation. I may draw off some of the liquid prior to the secondary fermentation which converts the alcohol to vinegar.

That tall modern building looming from the mist in rear of the belltower makes the composition complete John.

Not exactly an inspired shot, but done at dusk, downtwon Lille, Df, Voigtlaender 58/1.4 @f/2. That lens is no slouch. Except the low contrast and noticeable coma at f/1.4, and close-range (1:5) sharpness drop at wide apertures, it just works. Flare-proof, no visible distortion, etc. etc.

Cigarette smoking fishermen at the bow of his boat on the mighty Housatonic River. Z6 with 500mm f/5.6E, 1/250, ISO 125, f/5.6, uncropped. Handheld by a too often apt to be shaking, 72 year old picture taker, who is growing to love this lens.
