I tested this with 3 websites! how can this be!?

having said that, theres something magical about the old sensor that nikon uses, certainly renders differently compared to newer ones. i will do a test and see if i am just nostalgic or not

I agree that images from the D3 sensor have (or had, in my case) a certain charm to them that is not fully explained by numbers and measurements. The dynamic range of capture has since been exceeded by newer sensors, but the D3 was capable of beautiful imagery.

i went to Nikon, they attached my camera to a computer and the shutter count now is unbelievable, it's around 2600 actuations!

what is happening!?

I cant believe it...it was crazy high yesterday now its unbelievably low

if it indeed has that much shutter count then my camera would have looked more worn.

i got it because it looked new

its now time to look for a cheap D3s

I have no experience with the D3x, can anybody confirm that it has the same look as the D3 when it comes to photos?

thank you. somebody told me that the D3x uses the 24mp sensor that sony never wanted and is worse than the A7, is this true?

there's something about the algorithm of these cameras, my photos look like they were shot with Provia.

Another vote for the D700. My first DSLR.  Cannot bring myself to get rid of it even though i rarely use it. (My Df is my favorite.). Like the Df, the D700 works great with all my Nikkor manual focus lenses.  Must be something about the big pixels in both cameras that make the images so satisfying.

Back 2010 I bought a D300s. The price was $1,699.00~. I always wished I could have bought a D700 but the price was about $2,299.00 as I recall. I just didn't think I could push that far.
