Mirrorless and banding

Using my D850 in LV I can use silent mode. Sometimes getting banding indoors due to type of light - as expected. Slower shutterspeed (1/100 or 1/50) takes care of that - if not in need of faster SS of course 🙂.

How does the mirrorless (Z6/7) perform regarding silent shooting and banding, especially indoors?

Pretty much the same. I use silent shutter almost all the time unless I see an issue.

Same problem with banding (and rolling shutter?), only faster AF when using the EVF, I guess?

In other words when lighting gives us banding and the subject is moving relative fast, we have to choose between sharp image with banding vs blurry and non- banding, no mather dslr or mirrorless (exept for the Sony A9, I guess?

Banding happens at same SS no matter dslr or mirrorless?

Banding is present in the Z6 if you lift the exposure/shadows, even at ISO 100.  Don't expect it to pull single shot HDRs like you can a D750/D8XX.  If you aren't lifting shadows or exposure though, you won't see it until higher ISOs, where patterned noise is recognizable.

I noticed this too on the Z6, files are very susceptible to banding, even high contrast nefs, faststone image viewer which shows the embedded jpgs in their viewer, strong banding in the sky in the shape of cloudlike shapes of a different hues.
