Frank i wonder what you agreed with the seller, my private thought anyway.

I am in contact with the seller. No issues were labelled. All my used items always go to NPS after arrival for check & clean. We will see if a repair is necessary or not and what it might cost. The other lens was flawless, only slightly dirty, no issues according to NPS.

Lloyd Chambers mentions that stopping down lenses on the D850 changes wb significantly.

The alignment was difficult, must find something better than the tube.
And the I have to turn the knob the reverse direction of what I thought
