The Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/4 has been a faithful and reliable companion for decades.

The UV-Nikkor 105/4.5 can also do landscapes in a pinch :D

This is the entrance view of the Dørålen valley in the mountain heart of Southern Norway. A motif very well known to any die-hard Norwegian nature photographer, by the way,. However they might not see it in this 'light'.

Mana Pools Floodplain Woodland rd.jpg

is just lovely
Thanks Frank :-) All best for 2019 to you and everyone in this unique forum.

Across all the 105 Nikkors, it is remarkable how the designs have endured. ie that of the 105 f2.5 upgraded in the late 1970s. Both designs by Yoshiyuki Shimizu

and the 105 f1.8AIS put out by Teru yoshi Tsunashima persisted until the 105 f2 DC was released.

I only had the 105/2.8 Micro AFS for about 3 months, before I replaced it with the superior 125 Vogtländer 125 mm f/2.5 APO-Lanthar. The only 105 Nikkor I found lacklustre in its performance, by the way.

This is one of the few remaining 105 VR images.

Guess if I had written (what I meant), only MANUAL FOCUS 105mm images, this list would have been much shorter  ;D

Let the thread encompass all versions of the 105 lenses whether Nikkor or third-party....

Here are two examples of the AFS 105/1.4 E on the D500. that combination is surprisingly well handling and if one brings the "Erik" extension tube, can handle almost anything thrown at it.

Happy New Year, Klaus. I often focus AFS Optics manually because it is faster that way. That is why a calibrated good focussing screen is so important to me. Every prime lens has its special character, AF or MF. Jan Anne even uses his 1.2/55 Nikkor with an AF adapter on his Sony! The MF/AF border seems to be quite soft nowadays. Very interesting thread.

I think about opening a similar thread for 85mm...
