Fair price for a near-mint copy, as far as I can judge; my purchase, 18 months ago, was not that advantageous.

Many readers already know it is one of my favourite lenses, the focal length being one of the reasons (those additional eight millimeters make it more useable for portraits). Another one is the weight, size and handling, esp. on Df, but also on D800. Yet another one is bokeh at relatively wide, commonly used apertures (f/2-f/4), where it easily beats the other Nikkor fifties and the Voigt 58/1.4.

That's maybe the only Nikkor with a usable f/1.4 aperture, if you need it. I found it more versatile than most reviewers; the only issue I have is barrel distortion, which may need correction on architectural shots, or similar. This is where the 50/1.8 Ai or Zeiss 50/2 shines. But it is regular barrel distortion, so no real issue.

Today, it is once again my lens-to-go (50% of the time), and the only one in my bag. Some night shots and street photography ahead.

So, eager to see more of your pics.

Heavy users of specialist lenses such as the Noct really ought to have two copies, "just in case". I'm now down to that number myself :D

Should not be too hard to sell, in particular at that price.

Rather unusual to see this lens in such a good condition ... if I hadn't owned 2 Nocts already, plus have the 58/0.95S on pre-order, I would have bought that copy without hesitation.

I have to say that the shipping (and its risk) is on the buyer.

I guess you will be able to receive a lot more from ebay. This lens is rare in such a condition.

Looks very good.  Perhaps Father Christmas comes in with a ship of cash...

That's maybe the only Nikkor with a usable f/1.4 aperture, if you need it. I found it more versatile than most reviewers
Have you tried the 50/1.4 AF-S G ?  That lens surprised me in a positive way and is also very usable wide open.

Have shot with 58/1.2 a few times nothing within the nikon 50mm's comes close to center sharpness wide open.
The 50mm 1.4g suffers from flare, 58mm f/1,4g is not that center sharp nor is the 50mm f/1.2 for that matter.
I wouldnt think twice have i had the money.

I can confirm Fons' assessment. I'll just add that the 50/1.4G is nowhere as contrasty wide open as the Noct at 1.4, in my memory at least (I do not own it anymore). Stopped down, it's a fine lens though.

For our friends from the USA who might be interested in the lens:
I'll be there in January and March and could carry the lens with me, thus avoiding customs trouble.

If anyone in the USA wants I could sell it for US$ 2000 during my next stay in New York, by the end of March.
