Paco: annoyed that I hadn't been able to identify your yellow flower -- had this feeling it was familiar to me -- and checking my French photos, found it: Scolymus hispanicus, Asteraceae. A fitting name for a plant of Spain, indeed.

Mystery solved. Now, back to the daily grind of writing up my aquatic plant articles.

I feel a strong perspective.  What trick did you use?

   It's the bend armrest of a bench, dead center in the curve with a 28mm at closest range. The flower completes the trick. 😊

My Alma Mater just won 6/7 "Excellence Clusters" and is thus on the verge of becoming an "Elite Uni". This years "Fields Medal" was won by one of our professors. This year 200 years of its existence are celebrated. Yesterday the new banners were mounted to the wall of the current construction site. They build a new underground parking lot

"thinking without barriers" is a goal not a fact I guess. I have heared too many experts resting on their merits, presenting knowledge that can be acquired in a week of research.

Free thinkers with strong insights and regular knowledge updates tend not to grow in the German system. Regulation and social control is strong, people thinking outside the box are considered "Störenfriede" and they try to get rid of them.
