Country folk

Yesterday was the Killin Highland Games. As usual it rained quite heavily but I tried to get a few images.

The men are "tossing the caber" - the caber is a wooden pole 6 to 7 metres long and weighing around 70 kilos. They have to throw it up in the air so that it turns and lands in a very precise way. Only very large strong men can do this.   :)

Yes, perhaps - but for once, it is really welcome.

Jakov - great idea, but I'll let you make the suggestion to Erik . . . .

Dave, so now we have photographic evidence of what a Scotsman wears under his Kilt  :) .  Love the skin tones in the women images and overall.  Thanks for posting.

Not too sure. Seems there is some heavy make-up, and some greenish reflections coming from the grass. Grass is always a problem: be it for soccer or rugby players, or planes flying over a grass landing strip.

Pleasant pictures, by the way 👍🏻

Thanks for your comments, Tommie, Floyd and Chris.

Floyd - there is a greenish tinge to the girls' skin-tones. However it's not present with the men; I blame the make-up.  :)
