On a trip to London, so I hope it will be acceptable that the picture was taken yesterday.
Yesterday was hot here in London, so the children was playing in the fountain.
To day it was overcast and not as warm.

A spider in its web  and 'eating' a cocoon?

There appears to be a wasp in there. The spider will have bitten the wasp, injecting enzymes that decompose the wasp from the inside out. To prevent the wasp from hurting the spider or struggling out of the web during it's painful struggle to inevitable death, the spider wraps the wasp in a :cocoon: which immobilizes the wasp and attaches it to the web. The spider then comes back later when the decomposing process took place and sucks the now liquid innards out of the dead hull

this is what we would call a "lunch packet". If the spider captures more than she can eat she makes a package from the catch to save it for later and keep it fresh

We had a microburst in May that some called a tornado. What it did in my yard was bring some trees and large limbs down in the woods opening up new spaces for the sun to shine through once dark places.

wow. what a great light situation in the forest
