Members might have noticed I'm not as industrious a contributor as before. The reasons are of course complex, but not necessarily imply I'm tired of photography. Not at all, as a matter of fact. However, my project contract with the Norwegian ministry of Environment has  been renewed and I'm busy documenting all those small and elusive plants found in our aquatic environment. Not very inspirational work, but it certainly brings in the required money.

Birna, the setup looks intriguing as always!  I'd like you to post some resulted images, if you are allowed.

Thank you Peter, i think the issue is more than a broken card holder since the cam fails to operate with a cf card inserted suggesting a damaged electrical contact.

Mine doesnt show the CHA error but full info on the display but no memory card and being unresponsive.

Tom, these are elegant dogwoods.  The involucres of dogwoods seen here in Tokyo opens in the way the four parts break at their tips, and thus the tips of involucres are unavoidably damaged.  On the other hand, the involucres of your dogwoods don't look damaged.  I wonder how they look like before they open.

Akira, thanks for commenting regarding this Dogwood. I can't picture what the involucres look like as I seem to stare blindly at the tree each spring in my yard and my eyes only open when the involucres open and reveal their beautiful color. I have another Dogwood which exhibits the same traits as this one except it is all white.

I have a D200 whose CF card reader/writer has one damaged pin, so I cannot record images.  Otherwise the camera seems to be fully operational.

I need a new or good S/H reader/writer module.  Anyone with such a module or a dead D200?  I can of course pick up S/H D200 fully working for reasonable prices so maybe that is a better option.

Beautiful, but definitely a day on which sailors should take warning!

Birna: I am still interested to learn about any biological / ecosystem research that might inspire me or my doctors to find the cause of my illness. Currently I am draining Parasitology textbooks of their content to not exclude this possibility. In parallel I read a popular science book on the history of microbiology which is a must read for any nerd. the general public will not understand a word. So today I present an Idea I have been pregnant with for some years:

My reading list!

Frank- So sorry you are not feeling well and my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I wish I could add more or provide some meaningful insight, but my expertise lies elsewhere. Good luck though, and I hope they get you diagnosed soon and on your way to a full recovery!
