Parkour
« on: April 28, 2018, 12:58:49 »
Last week I shot some parkour in Central London in an event organised by the Nikon School.  Here are some of the results.

Wow.  These are spectacular.  It is hard to pick a favorite, all of them are so well done.  A really fine set of photos.

This is an exciting series!  The second one from the first group looks awesome!

Great work here Anthony - thank you for sharing.  What lenses and cameras did you use?

Anthony, thanks for sharing the outstanding series

All the images are great , my personal favorites are the fist few with the city in the background.

Care to tell us what equipment did you use ?

Anthony:

Your incredible photographs sent me scurrying to discover a bit about the history and development of the sport of "Parkour" which I had never even heard of before you posted these photographs.

I particularly enjoyed the ones where the city itself is part of the picture  (as in the first one and in the swing past the cherry trees) in particular: the scale of a recognizable context seems to emphasize the skill and the high leaps of these athletes.

The only time which I have ever come close to witnessing physical skill of this kind was when I happened to be at the Shaolin Temple near Luoyang in Henan Province on an afternoon when the graduating class were putting on a display of KungFu for their parents.

Thank you, all, for your kind remarks.  It was a very enjoyable day.

The camera was the D3s.  All but two of the shots were with the Nikon 24-70.  The upside down photo in the tunnel and the flag pose against the blossom were with the 70-200 VRII.

As the event was organised by Nikon, I felt it would have been impolite to have used Fuji equipment.

They are beautiful exposures. Are they HDRs?
