Paco, Frank, John:

Thank you. Glad you like it.

Still windy today but some of the trees still look nice. I may head out later for some long exposures in the wind.

I recently acquired a D500 to supplement my D800, mainly for bird photography. I love the high frame rate and the large buffer. The crop factor is also convenient, because it is most often difficult to fill the frame of an FX sensor. However, I also wanted a walk-around lens to obtain a smaller package than the D800/24-120, I normally use. I bought a probably never used secondhand VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G 1st version. This lens doesn't have the best reputation for use on the newer high resolution DX cameras. However, if you stop down a bit it provides an acceptable and handy combo. Here is an example showing the Karlskirche in Vienna.

Kim: A very versatile lens for travelling. I read a story written by a photographer-journalist in the times of Afghan war who took nothing to the field but the D300 & 18-200VR first version plus lots of batteries and cards. Her won a lot of praise & prizes for his reporting. In the end the most important tool sits between your ears, not in you photo bag....

Nice mysterious depth, Paco.

Perfect in the background, Frank

Effective use of the Fisheye, Jack?

Sweet yellows, Fons.
