scotland in monochrome
« on: September 16, 2017, 11:23:33 »
I like the colors of the Scottish landscapes. However my recent trip I thought Monochrome would be appropriate too. Although I shot in raw, when I took these photos I was thinking in B&W to emphasize light and/or lines. Comments, Critique and suggestions are (more than) welcome! All photos taken with Nikon D810 or Olympus PEN-F

Very nice Peter!

The use of flare/ghosts works wonders on the first image, not so on the 2nd and 3rd of the 1st series IMHO. The 2nd series is very moody, reflects quite nicely my sentiments from when i traveled Scotland a bit one holiday long, long time ago.

Peter, thanks for starting the thread.

It is wonderful to be able to see different aspects of the beautiful land, along with David's thread!

The B&W treatment seems to be appropriate for depicting the moody climate and quickly changing lighting.

Thank you for your observations, Hans. That is helpful. Actually they were rain drops on the lens. It was raining so I thought to put the rain to use.

I like the first shot best: subject, composition, interesting junk on the lens, and the falling rain gives it temporality.

I also like the 2nd one of the 3rd series for the mood it sets.

series one: 3, 4 like the falling clusters in 3, the harsh rain in 4 washing away all color
series two: 1

There is no image to be seen (I tried at home and at work). Is it only me?
