Montenegro and Serbia 2017
« on: September 08, 2017, 23:01:56 »
I cam to visit one of my best friends in Montenegro, Tanja.
It goes without saying how much I love visiting her and the wonderful and always inspiring Montenegro.
The prime goal of this visit isn't to make photos but I did have my D750 and 20/1.8 handy because photo opportunities appear continuously :)

1. Fiat 128 and the unobstructed windshield.
2. Trip advisor restaurant, carp highly recommended, location Virpazar.
3. VIP parking space, marvel of infrastructure.
4. If only schools and homes of culture looked like this (the sign says, do not throw cigarette buts and chewing gum).

Who knows what I will see tomorrow :)

I forgot to add this one for Bjørn, I know how much he would enjoy the Montenegrin flora :)
I don't know if what I captured is worth while, though...

Much looking forward to seeing more photographs of two interesting and beautiful countries which I have never yet had a chance to visit.

Dear Ann, thank you for your comments.
Here is a 135DC image, I just cannot withhold myself :)

Off to Ulcinj, an ancient Mediterranean city that should offer nice photo opportunities...

Whatever history is engraved on the ground, there will always be blue skies.  Enjoy your trip and keep posting, Jakov!

Akira, you could not have put it better.
Ulcinj is on of those ports that has been conquered numerous times through history. The sky is still blue. Now in Montenegro, although mostly populated by Albanian Catholics.
The infrastructure and urbanistic plans are not always followed to the letter :)
Here are a few snapshots:

1. St. Nikolaj
2. Narrow streets
3. The harbor
4. The beach
5. Stone facades

Now enjoying the sun that has finally appeared on Tanja's balcony on the bank of the Bojana River, listening to James Brown :)

Mr. Fish triumphs once again!
(I only have the 16mm Mr. Fish but he is so pocket-able and always travels with me!)

1. St. Nikolaj it is.
3. The harbor is quite nice as well. Green hairs give it a touch up.

Ah, great, I am looking forward to this new series. You already convinced me once to visit Slovenia, let us now see the south.

I like two shots of the set. The "flora for Bjørn" and the "Cityscape with beach 20170909_141022.JPG"

Although the horizon hangs and the post processing is overdone, the "flora" transpoprts a warm mood of a holiday visit in a port, fisherermen, restaurants...

The cityscape / landscape is a classic composition that defines the place in a very laid back way. Cool!

Ann, you might be tempted for the zoom fish-eye, you never know how it would come in handy. The fish shots are made with the 10.5DX. Thanks :)

Smusesuse, it's all about the narrow streets and last flowers :)

Thank you Thomas, I am sure you would find some subtle structures of order in this wilderness.

Dear David, thank you so much. We do what we can when not in amazing Scotland.

Montenegro is equally beautiful as Slovenia, Olivier. The Montenegrin coast is much more impressive and they are the privileged country to have a fjord outside of Norway. The 10.5DX fish-eye on an FX camera really shows more than 180º field of view as depicted on the narrow streets of Ulcinj Old Town.

Thanks Frank, I am certain that you would create loads of classic images at this photogenic area.

Erik, loads of fun indeed. Tanja says hello back! She knows all about our gathering in The Hague later this month :)

Tanja and I at her balcony/porch above the river of Bojana. Shot with a not-so-good smartphone...

Thanks all again, for all your sweet comments and views!!!
