Greetings from Finland!

Hello,

I was for a short while active on the "old" NG, took a break from forums and now came to check out the "new" NG since I've heard good things about it. I use multiple brands, my current main camera not being Nikon, but do use all kinds of gear with the N-logo on.

Hope to participate in some illuminating discussions!

starting illuminating discussions can be immediately:
please tell me why Finland is written with one n and Finnair with two of them  ???

I'm in fact based in Helsinki, so sea, a mild climate and a medium sized city is typical for this region.

For spelling you will have to ask for the ancient Swedes that named this country  ;D
I'm making an educated guess that since a double consonant is not normally followed by a consonant in Swedish, the second "n" in the country name is implied. But since the inhabitants are called "Finns" then "Finnair" makes perfect sense (in a language sort of way, where things are not completely logical).

My flickr album has not been updated in a while and making a proper online gallery never seems to become urgent enough, but I do present "quick" photography on my Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/laff81/ while mostly iPhone there are some pictures taken with "real" cameras posted from time to time.
