I took the plunge!

In fact I had already ordered the bespoke raf camera adapter, while I was still procrastinating, so I suppose buying the lens was inevitable ….

I will write it off as a 62nd birthday treat for myself :)

LOL! Like a bus, one comes, and then another one soon after!

A few hundred $ cheaper than the one I bought, but there for another brave soul to plunder!

I have no doubt my purchase triggered this one to be listed. :-( :-)

Dogman and Hugh, we all have various backups/spares: hard disk drives, memory cards, camera bodies, batteries, etc. Why not a Heligon? I have got two  ;)

Yes indeed - me also.  I always buy hard disk drives in multiples of two and keep duplicate copies of data on each.  Ditto for favourite lenses and I always travel with backup bodies and lenses.  An inexpensive outlay when compared to the cost of plane fares and hotel bills.

People seem to be having so much fun with the Heligon, that I could not suppress my smart arsed remark about hooligan behaviours!  ;D

;D ;D

Well, … after the longest ever DHL delivery from Germany I may have the lens in my hand tonight! I have had the three components for adapting to Z mount for two weeks now, so the final arrival of the lens is much anticipated :-)

But did it suffer any damage during the trip? Did it go moldy? …..

The weather here in Tokyo is ****, making anything outdoors and flowery out of the question, but I have decided to focus on the head and eyes of my darling Budgie for my first ‘TV’ experiments.

An additional ¥3,000 for import duties was a pain, and unpacking took some time …. Truly epic packaging! The actual lens box is perched on the top.

Quickly mounted to Z via a custom raf camera adapter plus a pair of Borg rings. Sickness and dreadful weather have prevented me from trying it out though :(

It's a funny thing ... Two very different images of Saul, taken seconds apart.

The other image is a spider plant baby with an LED grow light behind it.

Quite extreme vignetting (these images are cropped), but I guess that just goes with the territory.
