Nice photo, and interesting bird, but I am surprised no one has commented that it is wayyy too under-exposed.

I took the liberty of a quick edit to show you what I mean (Before | After)
I prefer the original, which has some impact and brings on a matching forest mood.
The second needs a lot more edit to balance it IMHO.

Sorry i am late ln replying i love the diverisity of replies plus that exposure is not set in stone is like chasing sharpness. i could go on. Thank you all i just keep  on learning and hope to not stop. I will  keep posting and please tell  me whats wrong dont worry about feelings

quite like the heavy dark forest atmosphere of your original image Grahame.

Same bird - different perspective. From his observations, Mongo can tell you this bird is driven by extreme curiosity and  a territorial nature. Love its white bow tie
