Ron, this is one of the few where I think an about 4/5 framing would make sense,- horizontal bottom cut just through the left corner of the table.
Intensifies the impression a lot. Stong capture full of relational tri-angles. Like the pose of the woman in the darker dress.

Selfie Duo by Ron Scubadiver, on Flickr

This pair was wondering around Hoi An in sync with me, and just loved having their pictures taken.

Ron, you are probably (very) tall.  Especially for portraits, you should position yourself at the model's waist or even knee level.

Sounds like one of those rules that is just begging to be broken.
Portraits can be a success from any vantage point.

Love the series Ron, thank you for sharing.

You can brake every rule if you want, as long as you have talent. But if you are taller than 1.85m, and you are photographing people who are on average 1.50m plus, it's up to you...

I am less than 1.85M, but not by much.  None of these to me exhibit the lollipop look.  I often bend my knees, but it isn't that easy, unfortunately.

;).... Bending my knees over time doesn't improve either....

Like this one a lot.

Detail question: Maybe you know what the padded chin strap is for?

It isn't a chin strap.  It is kind of like a surgical mask made from cloth.
