Thomas, fantastic thread. Just went through the many photographs you have posted. You can easily print an entire book about Iceland!
+1
This is one of most organized travel diary I've come across with consistent high quality and diverse images. Thank you Thomas.
What all the others say, great, great stuff.
But #1984 could be a shot straight from a movie about dooms day. What a stunner!

Jakov, it was a truly fantastic voyage. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by how many useful pictures we brought back.
You are welcome, Anirban. I'm happy that you seem to enjoy them, it makes me feel that it was worth the effort of selection and posting.
Thank you, Hans. We feel lucky enough to have saved a few of those outstanding moments which in reality disappeared as quickly as they showed up.

Thomas, I appreciate your all these efforts to keep us informed of the interesting and fantastic places to visit in Icelend.  Hope you have enjoyed your travel.

Are the stone eggs a piece of contemporary art as a whole, or a group of monuments of some kind?

[links included point to wikipedia]

2016 October 5th - our last day on Iceland. We spent the night in Egilsstaðir and started the day with some favour shopping.
The ferry is scheduled to set sail at 8pm only. That leaves time to do some sightseeing around the lake and have one more walk.
The day will offer plenty of trees wearing autumn colored leaves and another example of Iceland weather and light surprise.

26 - 1 a last picnic (at Lagarfljót (also called Lögurinn))
26 - 2 harvested (some weather coming)
26 - 3 black sheep  (reference to the movie)
26 - 4 that light (dooms day)
26 - 5 wires

A walk in the woods. There are trees on Iceland.
They build up to a small forrest in this area, near Egilsstaðir (see GPS coordinates).
We appreciated the mellow autumn colours and the contrasty sky.

26 - 6 autumn yellow
26 - 7 still life
26 - 8 a little creek
26 - 9 lake view
26 - 10 wild fruit

My favourite. I think it would have deserved a pano shot.
