Maybe deliberate - "I take care of a dog" is information - "Beware of the dog" is a warning - they are different in law here in the UK - maybe also in Spain?

I walked by today again and the whole door was closed. The other half read "beware of the dog". Either that settles it...or he has more than one dog for different purposes

On that particular day, no key had been lost (and put on one hook). But you can be sure that if you lose your keys in that park, you'll find them hanging there!
