September 19. Was thinking of the theme "Natural Disorder/Chaos" here on NG and shot a flat stone up close. Not sure if the pattern is too ordered to be disordered.

John - just curious why the former buildings have been teared down. They don't seem particularly old. Simply renewal of the street maybe?

I think they were built in the 1920-30's, but they have been renovated a few times, and were excellent and cheap rental houses. There are very strange things going on in this country. These houses are just teared down to built new houses for the private market, and decreasing the stock of low-rate rental houses. City Hall calls it 'Renovation'...
