John, the 20mm f3,5 UD Nikkor bokeh is pleasant indeed.

Fons, I personally tried the Voigtlander 20mm f3,5 a few times when I saw one in camera stores, but I never liked what it gave me enough to buy one. And then I found my UD Nikkor for which I paid 27 Euros. That kind of solved my dilemma of wanting a small wide angle lens that would fit in a coat pocket. (the Voigtlander is considerably smaller though, but the UD Nikkor fit the bill close enoug)

I also own a 24mm f2,8 Nikkor-N.C which is another, even smaller, perfectly sharp wide angle lens. It is fairly well corrected as well, but wasn'treally wide on the D300 I was using back then.

It appears you are set up well enough in the 20mm FL to be happy with whatyou have :)

The only argument I could bring up is:

The UD Nikkor has to be one of the best looking lenses ever made for the F mount

27 Euros? The current asking price at ebay is more in the 300 Euro area!

I love this wall, made 50 years ago as the outfit for a public bath...

After she had her blood sugar and moods raised at home she prefers some freshly cut veggies to take them to the Kindergarden for second breakfast.
Some times she also takes fruit with her, depending on the choice of fruit in the current season.

Vegetables and fruit are healthy, but with fruit dental hygiene is very important because of the combination of sugars and acids.

Life creeping is a photo I like a lot. Can't quite put my finger on it. Possible it is the combination and arrangement of shapes and colors. Well seen!

Yes, 27 Euros. I got a good deal on it, and the glass is just as perfect as it comes. The body, as you can see, shows a little wear. Since it is my most used rectilinear wide I do not feel particularly guilty

Like that life creeping shot a lot too. The colours, the structure, the memory of childhood before too tidy family members demolished it all.....

That was a good deal, Buddy. Well I searched nearly two years for my copy, first owner, photographer, immaculate glass, factory Ai'd  and of course, signs of usage on the barrel  ;)   By the way, the price of the UD in 1971 was 1.200 Dutch Gulders, about 1.200 DM, and two month salaries.

It is what I love about the little Fuji.
She can be always with me if I want.
She has good IQ and combined with PN great colors.

On 15 September I wrote:

>> no pic from me, too much other stuff to attend to... <<

Nothing could be further away from the truth. I was so moved by the experience, I blanked. Here is the story with pictures:

28 years ago my friend Kristian died, following serious injury after a car crash. I had some business not far away from that graveyard, found his grave, but --- nothing.

I thought: "After 30 years your memory might have played tricks on you and the graveyard grew and changed over time", so I went to see the administration.

They looked up the name in the computer and found the grave was discontinued in 2014.

The place I found was spot on. I even remembered the number "211". And I remembered the birch trees --- there are next to no birch trees in the whole graveyard.

Here are the following pics:

Kristian when he was still alive & a picture of the tomb stone when it was still there (all scans from prints of slides)

The place where the grave was on 15 September 2016

A map of the graveyard, position of Grave XXV / 211 marked in blue

Thank you Frank for sharing your story. What does "discontinued" mean?
Do they not keep graves older than 26 years then?
Although I am not a fan of having a person buried - I prefer cremation - I am extremely respectful of graves in existence. I do not visit graves of those I knew as I find it too painful - but I do photograph old graves. Even that has a huge affect on me.

A grave is something like a piece of land you rent from your city.

You pay for something like an "initial resting period" can be 25 to 30 years.

Then the family receive a letter asking if they want to keep the grave and pay for another 5 to 30 years or the grave will be discontinued, plants and stone removed and marked as "free". After some years someone else might be buried there. The rent can be several hundreds of Euros per year.

Mother and father of Kristian might still be alive and his brother and sisters too. So I wonder why the grve is discontinued. Maybe they do not want to remember?
