Do any of you have your own Home Brewed concoctions at home you'd like to share?
  • Medicaments?
  • Foodstuffs?
  • Photo processing solutions (liquid and electronic)?
  • Unusual methods of transport?
etc

I like the theme. Nice opener. James Bond made my day. Must be a very humorous person creating these. :D

Thanks Thomas

So is there anyone creative in your household who makes things you just can't easily buy in the shops?  :)

I'd think so. From clothing to cooking...

Okay, these are not fancy at all in terms of either the image quality or the shooting technique.  But the subjects are not available at any retailers for different reasons and built by me.  So, my post should fit here.  :)

#1: a passive direct injection box.
#2: a 2-pole active low-pass filter good for the reggae sound and the simulated synth bass sound.
#3: an overdrive pedal based on the classic "Alembic Strato Blaster" circuit.
#4: an active preamp with a 2-band EQ whose circuit board was designed and built by a professional engineer, built into this small die-cast case by me.

I love these Akira - variations on a theme.

And I think they could spawn a side-thread of
  • Pictures of the proud owner performing using them
  • Some MP3 files that show the effect each one has on your axes

We await with anticipation :)

Do you have some examples you can share with us?
  • Either to share your family's ingenuity and cunning design skills with us
  • or to take advantage of an opportunity for a photographic project you might not otherwise have attempted

Colin, thanks for kind comments.  I constantly use all of them, especially #3 and 4.  But unfortunately these items as too small to see with the proud owner in action.  :D  The MP3 files?  That (or even MP4) can be part of my future plan.  ;)
