Jakov - I really miss all you guys - and ladies too, of course  - I've been wishing our event lasted a month, not a week. You know, one way or another I've been involved in photography since 1965, that's - omg - 51 years, and Scotland 2016 will always be among the very best moments in my entire career.

Thanks for your kind comments, Armando, Mike and Akira. I don't often get up at 3.20am but when I do, it is rarely disappointing.

Mike - good to hear from you again. I  forgot to tell you before - when everything was packed and cleared on the final day of the "event",  Mayumi and I fell heir to some food and drink items. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the Japanese single-malt bottle, but - of course  - those NG booze-hounds connoisseurs had scooped the lot, except for about a thimbleful. Since Mayumi had not previously tasted it, I felt honour-bound to share it with her - that might just be the kindest gesture I have ever made to her.   

There was plenty of the Tasmanian scotch.

How come I managed to miss them? I "only" found out about the bottle of Lagavulin gently supplied by Chris (at least, I believe it was him. If not, apologies to the unknown generous provider).

I have to say, even Dave's excellent images of the head of the loch are not quite the same as seeing this magical place in real life.
Perhaps to to truly appreciate a landscape photograph one should not know in first person the place it depicts...

Tasmanian whisky - which one? 

Tasmania is a small triangular piece of land off the southern coast of mainland Australia about the size of Switzerland or Ireland. It is allegedly inhabited by two headed people who unlike the rest of us can drink two glasses of whisky at the same time - or so mainland Australians claim - a definite example of two heads being better than one (so long as they don't argue!)..

Thank you Dave. I'm sorry that I didn't alert you to the Yamazaki a little earlier. I bought that from a little specialist saka-ya in Omotesando. I bought the Tasmanian whisky in the most unlikely place - Pont Aven in Brittany. The proprietor loved it. Unfortunately I didn't get to taste any, so can't comment.

Glad Mayumi got to taste a little of the Yamazaki. It's quite hard to buy in Japan as so much is exported. I'll bring two bottles next time.
