Thanks John and Buddy. The old globe was fascinating to look at and it was hard to resist turning it 
It dates back to 1766 - created by the Swede Anders Åkerman. Later updated by his successor Fredrick Ackel in 1780 where Cook's voyage (1772-75) has been added.
