Great stuff indeed.

Corrected an error of selling my D700's and got one back

My Df was probably only obsolescent last year, but if I understand Nikon's reported announcement that it has finished production of the Df series, then it is truly obsolete now, and this puts a little bit more shine on the camera- right up there with the Rangefinder series and the f2 series. It's like owning a pre-war Rolls Royce motor car.

I have 2 Nikon D70s. 1 is out of order. Very small LCD screen  (don't care) and very small viewfinder, which is a bigger problem for me.

The camera is fine and really easy to use. I learned how to take pictures with a D70s. It is much less forgiving that today's DSLR when it comes to ISO noise and image cropping. If you stick a good lens on it and experiment with the settings it becomes a very pleasant camera to use. As I said, the viewfinder is the real issue I have with it.

By the time a "new" camera hits the marketplace it is obsolete, for its replacement is already being worked on.  A sobering thought.  ;D

I just today grabbed some candids with obsolete cameras (D3X, D4S).

Yes! I still use an obsolete camera. In fact, several. I also walk and occasionally cook over an open flame. ::)

I don't think of myself as using an obsolete camera most of the time, but I suppose that since both of my newest cameras were bought in 2014, perhaps it's time to rethink the meaning of "obsolete."

Peter,  fantastic images.
John, you make that D3s sing.

I still like to use my first generation Fujifilm X100. Unmatched color rendering.

I was going to start a new thread, but I guess it goes along well here....

I did a spring cleaning and organized my camera gear (if you call "organizing" tossing a bunch of stuff in a box and labeling it "Misc Camera Stuff"). I reboxed three cameras, the D70S, D300, and D750 now that I have the Z6. I kept the Df unboxed too. I have many lenses (80% AF-S or more recent) still on the shelves, some nice and some mediocre (if Nikon makes mediocre lenses).

Couple questions for me...
* Do I sell the D70s and D300 -- i think the sentimental value is greater than any remaining economic value, so I think I will keep
* What is the use case of the Z6 with the ZF adapter and the traditional lenses? When am i going to want to carry the adapter and lens -- say the 300f4 or 105f2.8 maybe?? Not the 24-120 F4.
* Do i sell the D750? I like it, maybe love it, but again when a I grabbing that vs. the Z ?

I do realize these are all my own personal decisions, but it's always helpful to hear from others with the same dilemna.

I was just in India with the Z6 and actually left it in my hotel room a lot for just my iPhone. Hmmm. A sign of my times? (Now it was very much a social event and i didn't want to have to worry about where my bag was or have to carry it around)

Rob.
