Afx, culling live music photos is quite different from culling other kinds of shots in my experience. While superior detail is usually what the photographer in me prefers, the important part of live music is the energy and emotion. I have deleted many shots that were amazingly crisp and tonally pleasing for far less technically pleasing images because of the expressions captured alone. And the decision is well worth it everytime. If you are striving for technical excellence, live local music is a bad place to be. Extremely dark, fast moving and typically the worst lighting possible. Say hello to blaring 100% red or blue lights, say goodbye to technical quality.
