Variations -gradations of one color from the lightest to the darkest is monochrome, I think. Ready to be wrong again :)

Ok. If we extend the rule to one color plus black I want to make sure we do not
extend to color key shots.

What about gold black and skin then? I feel not.

No black here and not totally mono either but close enough I hope.

Dear Frank,

Tolerance is a good thing.

It's not my fault that the dancer is not African but Caucasian :)
Or are there also levels of blackness when it comes to skin tones?
Besides, Paco and I were having a laugh and enjoying our posted inspirational images.

Please stop moderating threads on NG and telling people where they should or should not post, even if you have started the thread.
It's offensive and it is not your job.
We are all here to learn more about photography, and please excuse our ignorance if we see monochrome images differently than you do.
If you only wanted to point out your opinion, but I just understood it too harshly, I apologize.

I am looking forward to finally meeting you in person in Scotland and matching your face with your words.
I always fear of ill communication because I don't see people's faces, their expressions and gestures...
I am certain we will have great fun over good food and good wine.

And I forgot to tell Bruno that I like his image, and if he sees it as monochrome, who am I to complain :)
The image is delicate and has a creamy background! (all the things I like)

Moving on...
I love going through older files. This one was not selected for the task at hand at the moment. Today, I love it!. Just resized for the web.

    Thanks Fons
Yes Akira! Excellent subject for full color monochrome.

Paco, thanks!  Blowing out is a good way to get a full-color monochrome image.

Paco. Your night club shots are wonderful. Can we see them in a
greater context somewhere?
