cant see the difference between black and white and some monochrome images

I would think that would be the whole point of this thread...

Well indeed there was a discussion on this matter in the beginning, where i mentioned this point, but was removed.
All best wishes from the b/w thread that has been on for awhile, but has largely been ignored, makes you think doesnt it.

Fons, in the themed topics the majority of the posted images comes from existing images and not newly created content. So after a while the content to post dries up when new ones aren't being made. At least this is how it goes with me, pretty much posted all the images I had uploaded on my Flickr account in the last decade or so.

And there is a clear distinction between monochrome images (can be any colour) and images that are made into black and white, some images in the former category might look like b&w due to the lack of colour but thats because there was no colour to be captured. Those images can of course be posted in both topics but of all the images posted here only includes a handful.
Cheers,
Jan Anne

Dear Fons.

As I was asked NOT to moderate this thread I just hint back to the original idea:

Monochrome scenes, so all shades of green, all shades of blue, all shades of yellow, all shades of brown, all shades of grey. The last one could LOOK like it was BW, but it is in fact not, all others do not even look like a BW

A BW picture can be created from any color photo, a scene that is monochrome is rare.

Love

Frank

A really long lens produces a compressed aerial perspective of the spring birches of the Northern Øyern Delta, Norway. The view encompasses about 5 km front to back. Just before the leafing, the birches take on a very special brownish red colour as the sap rises.

Nikon D3X, Zoom-Nikkor 360-1200 mm f/11 ED @1200 mm

(the black dot is not sensor dirt, but a fishing eagle - can you spot it?)

Yup.  Above left part of the frame.  :)  Today I went to a famous Nikon specialist second-hand shop and found the 360-1200 zoom sold there.

I know, and you keep the elusive TC-14C, right?

By the way, all rare lenses I mentioned came from a collection of a famous Nikon aficionado who passed away more than 20 years ago that included Reflex Nikkor 2000/11 and Fisheye 6/2.8.  The 360-1200 zoom is complete with the focusing lever and now elusive 122mm L39c protection/UV-cut filter.

Yes, I have the TC-14C. Now with a CPU of course.

My 360-1200 is a "K" and according to Roland Vink's page of serial numbers, less than 100 were made of the K + AI taken together. I have it complete with the four focusing levers,  HN-17 hood,  and 122 mm filters. It has a "G" type CPU to make it compatible with all modern Nikons. It is even possible to hook up the tiny 1 Nikons through the FT-1 adapter. Must snap a picture of that funny combination some time.

Paco. Your night club shots are wonderful. Can we see them in a
greater context somewhere?

Will do. It will take some time because I´m very busy. Thanks for the interest

Decapitation is a swift means of passing over to the Netherworld I'd guess ... Pretty photogenic sight though, basking in glorious sunset colours.
