Great image, Fons. I guess it's some sort of trompe l'oeil?

Photo was taken in the Noordbrabants museum, Den Bosch.
Not so much a trompe l'oeil, but easily to be misinterpreted.

Jakov, it looks like a training area for fire fighters.  We have one that likes nearly identical in terms of design not top far away.

Jakov, I  think these were the lift shafts to be followed by floors,  windows  etc.
