Both #15 and #16 are nice.
'The up/down machine' has the extra touch for me, I just can't figure if it is related to the mono chromatic light, the unsharp stairs or the symmetry or a combination of all.

As for the up/down machine - it was a grab shot and I also have a little trouble figuring out why I like it ;)

Thomas, the link still doesn't work neither in my IE11 or Chrome on Win7.  But I can click the link right below the image and see it directly in flickr.  So, please don't mind.
