This is Gondola, a steam boat which belongs to the Nation Trust it was rescued from rotting away some years ago.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SY_Gondola



This is Keith Whittle in his record breaking boat in November 2013 on the Monday.  Gondola is in the background while Keith was on an early record run.  On the last run on the Friday Keiths boat flipped out of the water, not far from where Campbell died.  Fortunately Keith survived to race again, I sent him a high res copy of this image.

Anthony, bent train does that describe the operating company? Nicely done.

Thanks, Mike, the shot was made handheld using the camera's auto-panorama function.  Not as technically good as one shot with high end pano equipment and pp software, but a quick bit of fun on a chilly station platform.

Two very nice images. 

The driver of the speed boat in the second image was Keith Whittle.  Frank Whittle was of course the guy that invented and overcame incredible obstacles to built the first turbo jet engine.

Hans Joachim Pabst von Ohain should be named side by side with Frank Whittle. They were the pioneers, I think one thought an axial, one a radial turbo jet. Both independently and at about the same time.
Both earned their patents and developed jet planes with the respective technology.
After WW2 they met in the sixties and stayed friends since.
