A couple of boat pix, the first, a Severn Barge, one of two surviving examples.  One man and his dog live on the barge full time.  The dog is a large white Alsatian which jumps on his masters shoulders and is carried up the ladder onto the boat whenever they board.  You can just see the owners head to the left of the stern.

The second is Astute, on her maiden voyage from Barrow to Glasgow, November 2011.  In the background is Piel Castle, which sits on an island in the main channel, 'guarding' the approaches to Barrow.

Super stuff Anthony, love em!

Seapy the Astute is under civilian control as denoted by the Blue Ensign must be part of her acceptance trials?

I guess so Mike, she's fresh out of the Barrow docks, where she was built.

Here is another showing the escorting tugs.  The second image is a collage which I cobbled together just for fun, taken through the Roe Island - Customs House gateway.  OK I realise there are planes, but  they ARE the red arrows!

To bring some contrast into the series: A tram passing below the facade of one of Oslo's few high-rise buildings. Done in IR and then remapped to b/w.

Looks like a train from Frank Miller´s "Sin City". What a graphic impact.
