The warbler is very beautiful, and the other one too; around here you can also see some without their tails, they're already molting.

Thank you Arturo, the warbler- Common Whitethroat (Sylvia communis)- seems to me very beautiful also it was only cropped a bit and no edit, shot with Nikon standard profile
The bird in the second image-Jynx torquilla-is bit rare at least for the place, a little park in the middle  of the city so a lot of photographers came to shoot it  8)

Nice Plover eggs Lars :)

To answer your question: in terms of AF the two cameras seems equal but Z8 is completely black out free and Z50ii has a slide show as when you shoot with a DSLR
When you shoot with electronic shutter there is no black out  but the EVF freezes for milliseconds and if you shoot continuously you may miss the new position of the bird
But as you stated earlier if you adapt yourself with the changes you can do the job
Dont expect to see better image quality but if you fill the frame and use denoise software it can be close to FF

Its lighter, smaller, it can go anywhere without the fear to carry an expensive camera, dont have to pay the extra features, nor have to sell your car to buy it

I hope this  helps, I already got  beautiful pictures to post, stay tuned and thank you!

Many thanks, Nasos.

Also many thanks for sharing your experiences with the Z50II - great images! Based on your experiences, I think it would be a great extra camera for me to make better use of my 100-400 for birds etc. instead of my Z7.

About your downgrade from the Z8 and 180-600 - the Z50II and 500pf is a great combo in your hands despite the drawbacks!

Kingfisher taking off.

Lovely.
A great example of a decisive moment - poised, committed but not yet launched

+1 That's a great catch, Anthony! I've observed flying Kingfishers several times - like small orange-blue rockets.

It's amazing, and he must be rare and famous because he looks like a Hollywood star. The photographers' image is beautiful, greetings Nasos

Z 50ii was a pleasant surprise for me and pairing with a 500mm lens is great
Maybe pairing with 180-600 gives more flexibility but it’s heavier

Arturo can you please explain what actually mean by that, I cannot fully understand it..

I noticed that the wryneck was missing its tail, and I mentioned that in Murcia, where I live, I've already seen some birds molting without their tails. I'm using an online translator; I don't speak English.

Thank you Arturo, I didn't know  about the tail, I think I will find out there are a lot of people who know about birds in fb teams :)
You may find here another bird with a normal tail shot in the same place

Great combination Z50ii/500pf, excellent results, and super sharp. I like the blue of the sky in the last photo; you have a good camera, Nasos.
