I guess trhe TC and 400 are Z-native?
I got the Nikkon-F-TC20v2 but it has some quality issues while this shot looks super clean and detailed

Jan, Frank, I'm glad you like the photo.
Frank, yes, the photo was taken with the Z-Nikkor and the Z teleconverter. I'm very happy with the converter, with the 400 it's still quite a compact 8oomm, even on the Zfc the combination is still usable.
Unfortunately, the chick in this photo was a bit out of focus and I used the ON1 NoNoise plugin to adjust it, so the result is not entirely due to the lens.

sorry Jurgen, you are now focusing and excusing for the “technical flaws” of the magnificent picture you’ve just posted. Not meaning to be pedantic (which I am), skip that!! I envy you about the moment that you were able to catch! Look at it. Have been  sharing the link to NG on this specific picture with some of my friends describing this as “my favorite pic of the year” and got very positive responses back. it’s not always about “photograhic perfectionism “ this one is engraved in my memory forever… thoughts….
