Exquisite. When steel and concrete are in a minority, they even get bearable :)

Thank you.  I like this spot on the Tamagawa river where I can enjoy such an open scenery.  The artificial things are pushed away, and I can breath a bit more deeply both physically and mentally.

Akira, both images are just dandy :-)
The suburban reminds me of Italy and the second one has vertical cloud symmetry and bridge reflection symmetry at the same time.

Thank you, Jakov.  That's what the urban geometry is all about!  :D

Apparently, you are yet another lucky one to find a good sample of 20/2.8 (Ais or AF).  The rhythmic crossing of sharp lines represents the urban scene nicely.

This lens should be stopped down to f/5.6 or narrower. Wavy distortion can be very disturbing (LR provides a correction profile). Sensitivity to flare is the most serious issue.

On the other hand, the lens is small, pretty sharp, and close range correction seems very effective. A pity that the mentioned flaws limit the range of suitable subjects.

I have tried about ten samples of 20/2.8 (Ais or AF-D), but none of these could offer decent sharpness in the corners like your images posted here even at f8.0 or 11.  So, I gave up...

Urban geometry is also, sometimes, about curves (conical sections & others).
Here caught with Df + Voigtländer 40/2.

Or accept the 'drawbacks' as lens- characteristics    ;)

It dependes. Funny bokeh, vignetting, or sharpness drop towards the corners can sure be used for "creative" purposes.
Purple fringing or "glow"... to some extent (especially after BW conversion).
Wavy distortion? much less so, and I can dispense with flare most of the time.
LoCA? never (at least, not my style).

That being said, pocketable lenses are nice. My smallest bag is a ridiculously small Peakdesign sling bag where I can fit Df + a mounted 50 mm, a compact wide angle and the very compact Elmar-R 180/4 (alternatively, a Nikkor 135/2.8 or similar. Then there is just enough room for a spare battery. Well, 20+50+180 is a nice range for such small volume (and weight). Not sure you can do that with the Z series stuff...

Yes you can. Not yet a substitute for the 180 but yes for the 20mm and 50mm. You can of coourse just use a ftz and be done with it.
Even if I love the df files, thhe ergonomics never worked for me.

The Voigtlander 180mm f/4 is a very small lens and fits perfectly on the Z6 and Z7.  It is very rare, however.

The 20/2.8 or f/3.5, and the Japanes pancake 50/1.8 (Serial no 2....)   make a small package too with the ftz and Z6/7
