Hi Bjørn,

Are you sure about the Big Dipper in your stars shot from the plane?
I see Canis Major, Orion and Taurus for sure but not the big dipper (Ursa Major)!

Maybe I did not get what you meant.

Anyway, it is a cool shot and probably a rare attempt at astrophotography from a fast moving object!
I know it is also done from satellites but the means developed are not in the same league of course.

 Oops, brain fart, Orion of course, my bad.  And do not blame Bjørn for that.  ;D

The plane moves at a pretty moderate speed compared to how fast we swirl around the earth here on the ground, so as long as one can brace relative to the plane and a steady course is held, it can work.

Could also have posted this under "Photographers in action". Oslo Maritime Airport Fornebu, long since gone out of existence, but a frequent starting point for me doing aerial photography in the mid '70s.

Bjørn - your airport photo collection is extremely impressive. They are very creative like your all other photos. In fact you can create a coffee table book with just photos of airport! :) Glad I started this thread.

Bjørn, you are right.  "Welcome Back" is more precise translation for "Okaerinasai".  By the way, that's when we finally saw each other in person!

FWIW, the display right below the "Welcome Back" sign says that they found one malaria patient in red.
